Job Details Type: Full time/PermanentWage: $75,000 – $80,000 annual salaryShifts: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (flexible as needed)Location: Greater Toronto Area (Fully onsite)Travel: No Job Summary This is an HR Generalist role that is both tactical and strategic, focused on maximizing employee engagement and development. The position supports warehouses and high‑density geographic areas, partnering closely with operations to address employee needs throughout the life cycle. Essential Functions Works closely with HRBP to execute HR strategy, focusing on engagement and retention, and provides managers with tools and training to optimize performance. Provides day‑to‑day HR support to location leadership, including training, coaching, and development. Acts as an intermediary with HRES/Employee Relations and management on HR matters, including ticket submission in MyRyder. Supports managers on hiring, termination, and employee data changes; enters data into Workday/MyRyder and ensures effective onboarding and training. Conducts proactive employee relations (pulse surveys, 1:1s) and leads investigations, collaborating with Business Agents when necessary. Uses analytics and workforce trends to influence decisions that improve processes and programs. Supports Labor Relations and HRBP on union negotiations and implements labor strategy components. Communicates, interprets, and consistently applies policies and procedures, ensuring compliance in partnership with HRES/Compliance. Collaborates with operations to develop innovative solutions to improve retention. Works with recruiting to fill roles timely and prepares staffing plans using workforce analytics. Coordinates development programs such as FLP and LMT. Ensures legislative compliance with all applicable employment laws through compliance reviews. Additional Responsibilities Champions HR technology adoption at the location (Workday/MyRyder). Works with agency partners when needed. Runs hiring events and partners with local schools when needed. Supports a diverse and inclusive workplace. Performs other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Attention to detail and strong written & verbal communication skills. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with HR concentration or related field, or 4 years of equivalent experience. 2+ years in employee relations or a similar HR function. 2+ years in HR generalist or similar functions. Previous HR Generalist experience (mandatory).
