We’re partnering with a newly established commercial insurance brokerage backed by a large, well-established parent organization with an immediate and guaranteed book of business already in place. This is a rare opportunity for a highly technical and operationally driven insurance professional to step into a Principal Broker leadership role with a clear path toward becoming the firm’s future Chief Operating Officer (COO). Our client is looking for someone who enjoys building structure, improving workflows, and helping scale a brokerage from the ground up. This is not a pure sales or producer role — the focus is on operations, systems, technical insurance knowledge, and leadership. Key Responsibilities Act as the Principal Broker and operational leader for the brokerage Build and implement brokerage workflows, systems, and operational processes Oversee daily brokerage operations include: Certificates of Insurance (COIs) Bid bonds and policy documentation Carrier coordination and compliance Lead implementation and optimization of insurance systems and technology Coordinate licensing and compliance across multiple provinces Support market placement strategies alongside carrier and brokerage partners Work closely with ownership and executive leadership on long-term operational growth Help scale the organization into a larger national brokerage platform over time What You Bring RIBO Level 3 License (required) Strong technical background in Commercial P&C Insurance Familiarity with: Construction insurance Brokerage workflows and operations Insurance systems / BMS platforms / IT processes Strong organizational and operational leadership skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Able to build structure and processes from the ground up Nice to Have Surety / bonding exposure Leadership or office management experience Multi-provincial licensing experience Who This Role Is For Enjoys the operational side of insurance more than pure sales Wants to help build and shape a brokerage long-term Is looking for a leadership opportunity with strong growth potential Thrives in entrepreneurial and high-accountability environments Compensation & Benefits Compensation is highly flexible and will be tailored based on experience and long‑term value brought to the organization Opportunity to present your own compensation structure / business case Performance incentives and milestone‑based upside available Strong health benefits package + RRSP matching program Vacation negotiable based on seniority and experience Growth Opportunity This role is designed to evolve into a broader COO / operational leadership position as the brokerage grows.
