Job Description EXP is searching for an Electrical Designer (Buildings) to join our Mechanical/Electrical team at our Calgary, AB office. The successful applicant will be joining a diverse engineering group in Western Canada poised for growth and challenging opportunities well into the future. Responsibilities Responsible for meeting the firm’s engineering quality levels for discipline on assigned projects. Develop the Basis of Design (BOD), Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), and Construction Documents (CD) that meet project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget and use best practices. Develop design concepts and ensure proper application and execution. Act as the single point of contact with client project managers for project scope definition, schedule, and budget requirements. Verify work quality regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings. Have a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts to execute all required aspects of discipline engineering. Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours. Mentor and encourage development of Designer level staff. Write studies and reports on electrical system work. Contribute to revisions of EXP’s design standards and master specifications. Apply risk management practices to all projects. Qualifications At least 3 years of experience in the Electrical Engineering field. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent degree. EIT required and working towards Professional Engineering license. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.) and electrical design software.
