Assistant Director – After School Program PLASP Child Care Services is a charitable organization operating on a not‑for‑profit basis that provides high‑quality early learning and child‑care for children up to 12 years of age. PLASP operates in more than 240 schools offering before‑school, lunch, and after‑school programs, 38 full‑day early‑learning and child‑care centres, and six EarlyON locations for children from 0‑6 years. The position begins September 2026, with the successful candidate required to be available for school set‑up the week of August 31, 2026. Responsibilities Maintain a safe, warm, and caring environment for a high‑quality extended day program. Collaborate with staff to plan, develop, and implement age‑appropriate activities that promote children’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual well‑being in accordance with the Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA) and PLASP guidelines. Support ordering of food for the program and prepare nutritious breakfast and snacks following the Canada Food Guide and the rotational snack planner. When the Program Director is absent, administer all program duties, including registration, record‑keeping, health and safety monitoring, and ordering supplies. Operate programs according to Ministry of Education (MEDU) standards and ensure the CCEYA licence is in good standing. Participate fully in P.A. Days, providing reliable care on and off school premises. Qualifications An ECE degree/diploma and registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE) or a Child Youth Worker/Care diploma (CYW/CYC) or Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) in good standing. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in child care or community service, preferably with staff supervision. Knowledge of the CCEYA and Ministry of Education licensing requirements. Valid Standard First Aid Certificate with level C CPR experience. Valid Criminal Reference Check – Vulnerable Sector.
