Position Information Department: Sales & Marketing Location: 480 Gordon Baker Road (Hybrid) Status: Full Time Reports to: General Manager, Sales Operation & Strategy Summary Of Responsibilities The Product Specialist ensures the organization has all relevant material and information to sell and support Outboard Motor Sales. Oversee wide marine product information requirements, communicate and support internal stakeholders and boat builder partners, and develop educational training plans focusing on product features and benefits. Key Duties & Responsibilities Product Planning – develop product planning requirements based on market input, data, and research; work with Yamaha Japan and affiliates to confirm mid‑term product plans and be the leading voice for Yamaha Canada future needs. Communicate detailed product information to all internal departments to ensure confident selling. Competitor Analysis – be a market expert. Perform specific market research, analysis, and reports including detailed competitive analysis of pricing and features & benefits supporting positioning of current and new models. Training Materials – develop high‑level product knowledge and market information to assist in positioning key models. Prepare, distribute educational training materials for dealers, boat builder partners, and staff that support product introductions. P&A / Marine Rigging Integration – work directly with Parts & Accessories development to advance selection of key accessories and rigging parts to ensure availability at product launch. Provide MRP expertise to improve rigging solutions efficiently. Marine Special Markets – support sales team with technical application to completing government tenders and price quotes. Events – support marketing at dealer, media, consumer, and press events as required. Experience Requirements Degree/Diploma: Post‑secondary degree Program of Study: Technical, research, academic background, and sales experience a plus Years of Experience: Minimum 5‑10 years Type of Experience: Recreational Boating Industry and Yamaha Marine product knowledge required Skills And Abilities Highly motivated, independent, and able to manage own time effectively. Excellent organization and planning skills. Oral and written communication skills with the ability to build solid business relationships. Strong analytical skill and technical aptitude with understanding of mechanical systems. Ability to communicate marine product features and consumer benefits. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required. Valid driver’s license and boat operator’s card. Compensation & Benefits Expected salary range: $85,000 – $95,000 per annum. Salary determined based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
