GENERAL SUMMARY The Environmental Health and Safety Manager supports DeZURIK’s Canadian sites (Cambridge, Ontario, and Leduc, Alberta) and the Redmond, Washington site, serving as the primary EHS contact for team members and site leadership. Based in Cambridge, this role provides EHS support and directs the implementation of programs necessary to develop a proactive safety culture, provides management of a comprehensive safety system that controls cost and risk, and focuses on cultural safety improvements with leading and lagging indicators across all three locations.The EHS Manager will implement and lead a Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) program focused on fostering complete trust and cooperation between leadership and team members. This role serves as the environmental steward for the locations, ensuring that all environmental compliance is in accordance with Federal, State, County, City and Provincial regulatory requirements. The role requires periodic travel to maintain strong site partnerships and a visible EHS presence. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS )Analyze and identify common safety/health hazards inherent in the organization’s operations and establish processes and procedures for protection from those hazards .Identifies applicable regulatory requirements and establishes procedures for their implementation .Audits safety programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and unique local conditions .The EHS Manager will partner with the Director of EHS and work collaboratively with relevant regulatory and compliance resources to ensure full adherence to all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and standards .Leads investigation of major accidents/incidents/hazards/near misses, recommends future preventive measures and ensures implementation through problem-solving techniques .Responsible for OSHA logs for the Redmond site, CCOHS, OHS, OHSA logs for Cambridge and Laduc First Reports of Injury, and partners with HR on Workers’ Compensation claims at the three locations .Reviews new products, equipment and processes for potential hazards and recommends modifications before introduction .Works with team members and supervisors to identify and correct potential safety and health hazards .Develop safe standard work practices with plant personnel and monitor conformance through safety standards .Provide feedback to support plant engineering to assist with the implementation of engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards .Conduct ergonomic assessments to ensure proper tooling, workstation design, and process layout that promote safety, efficiency, and injury prevention .Emergency Response Coordinator, managing emergency procedures and organizing emergency teams during an event .Serve as the owner of the Emergency Plan policy and procedures, ensuring training, compliance, and adherence to all applicable regulations within each jurisdiction .Partner with the Operations Team for utilization of the safety LMS system.
