Drive effective legal strategies as an In-House Legal Counsel in Family Law and Indigenous Child Welfare. Work within a hybrid model while supporting community and legal initiatives.As part of your responsibilities, you will report to the Legal Services Manager and lead legal representation on matters relating to the CYFSA and associated laws. Your approach will focus on preserving relationships, cultural identity, and supporting community engagement across legal processes. This role emphasizes consultation, case collaboration, and effective legislation interpretation.Key Responsibilities: • Consult Agency staff on legal and regulatory issues • Prepare and present cases in court • Mentor a Legal Assistant and promote teamwork • Develop comprehensive reports and legal documents • Engage in legal research and legislative reviewRequirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in Law or J.D. required • 2-3 years of litigation experience in Family Law • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario • Experience in Indigenous Child Welfare is beneficial • Flexibility to work outside standard hoursLeverage your legal skills to empower Indigenous communities and ensure the well-being of children and families through effective legal advocacy. #J-18808-Ljbffr
