Supervisor-Family Engagement and Attendance Specialist Wiikwemkoong Child and Family Services Responsibilities Lead a team dedicated to promoting student success by reducing chronic absenteeism and strengthening family-school partnerships. Guide and oversee the Family Engagement and Attendance Specialists in providing intensive, individual support to children and youth who face attendance barriers, fostering culturally respectful and empowering relationships with families. Collaborate with parents, guardians, caregivers, and school staff to identify attendance challenges, develop tailored intervention plans, and monitor progress toward improved attendance and academic achievement. Build trusting relationships within the community and nurture a supportive environment alongside the team. Stay current on child welfare matters and act as an advocate and lobby for prevention and intervention solutions to issues directly affecting Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory families. Requirements Bachelor of Social Work Degree, Early Childhood Education Degree, or a related degree in social services is preferred. Experience working with Indigenous families and communities. Minimum of three years of supervisory experience working with children, youth, and families in a wellness, education, or prevention capacity within a First Nation community. Knowledge of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory programs and services. Knowledge of school systems, attendance policies, and child development principles. Knowledge and efficient utilization of Caseworks case management software for the program. Knowledge, understanding, respect, and sensitivity of Anishnawbek culture, traditions, and the Seven Grandfather Teachings.
