As a Controls Specialist, you deliver durable solutions by applying sound technical judgment to complex project challenges. The role requires a high level of accountability for system performance and a willingness to travel within the Greater Vancouver area to support our dynamic operations. Key Responsibilities Install, commission, and optimize advanced DDC systems, ensuring controls, sensors, and networks meet performance standards. Use technical judgment to solve automation challenges and mitigate project risks before they impact timelines. Train owners on system operation and partner with Project Managers to manage risks and improve execution. Travel as needed and adapt to changing schedules while taking end-to-end ownership of complex projects. Maintain accurate documentation and participate in project reviews to drive continuous improvement. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 2+ years of professional experience in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or controls. Hold a valid and current driver’s license, insurable by the company’s insurance carrier. Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as squatting and climbing for extended periods. Capable of working over 8 feet above grade and proficient in the use of ladders and motorized lift equipment. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience in delivering turnkey solutions while independently working with increasing scope complexity and managing resources to meet all milestones. Proactively identifies and resolves system issues using a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical plans. Proficient in loading and configuring building automation software, including trends, alarms, system reports, and end‑user training. Familiarity with BACnet or third‑party system integrations. Clearly translates technical project details for customers and maintains disciplined documentation and safety standards. Anticipates customer needs and provides feedback on field tools and processes to drive operational efficiency and reliability. Additional Information Must have unrestricted authorization to work in Canada. No visa sponsorship available. Pay Range The expected base salary range for this role is between $56,500.00 CAD - $106,500.00 CAD annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. This compensation includes components such as base salary, vacation pay, public holiday pay, potential estimated overtime pay and paid statutory leaves of absence. Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, as well as possible retirement contributions. Other Compensation This role may also provide the opportunity to earn additional incentive compensation in the form of annual bonus, sales bonus, sales commission or local incentive. If the role provides for an opportunity to earn additional incentive compensation, it will be based on measurable performance factors which may include company performance, individual performance or other key performance indicators.
