Ensures the smooth operation and strategic development of the Mandarin Program in advancing its educational goals, serving as a crucial link between faculty, students, and the university. Provides spiritual leadership, and formative guidance to students, faculty, and staff in the program, nurturing the well‑being of the community. Key Responsibilities: Leadership Development: Assisting the Program Director in developing and implementing strategic plans to advance the mission of the program and managing budgets. Academic Coordination: Creating a bridge between the faculty team and the student body to keep the curriculum fresh and updated. Ensuring student success by managing academic advising, records, and support services. Formational Support: Providing mentorship, care, and direction for students. Career Development: Helping students find internship opportunities in local churches. Key Areas of Accountability Leadership Assistance Strategic Planning: Work with the Program Director to develop, evaluate and execute strategic plans to advance the mission of the Program. Budget Management: Work with the Program Director to prepare annual budgets for the Mandarin Program. Donor Management: Work with the TWU Advancement Office and TEDS Dean’s Office to cultivate relationships with existing and new donors and raise funds. Prospective Students: Receive prospective student information and pass it on to the TWU admissions team. Academic Management Course Management: Collect data on the quality of curriculum and communicate with the Program Director and the TEDS Dean’s Office when adjustments are needed. Financial Management: Receive Mandarin program scholarship applications, make awarding decisions, and pass information on to TWU financial aid for distribution to students. Academic Life Supervision: Making plans to ensure students’ academic life is supervised and directed according to the academic calendar. External Support Spiritual Formation: Making plans to ensure the health and growth of the students. Church Networking: Consistently building a network with churches and Christian communities. Encouraging students to be committed to church communities and helping them find internships in local churches. The Person Skills and Abilities Fluent in Mandarin and English. Excellent interpersonal skills with a wide range of students, staff, faculty, and other off‑campus contacts using well‑developed discernment and listening skills. Strong capacity for managing organized systems and disciplined contact follow‑up. Strong organizational, problem‑solving and sound decision‑making abilities. Strong strategic planning skills and executive capabilities. Fast‑paced, efficient, and can work under stress. Knowledge of theological education standards and processes. Familiarity with cross‑cultural ministry, particularly in Chinese/Mandarin‑speaking contexts. Knowledge of student development theory and pastoral care best practices.
