Your role Responsible for the delivery of organized estimates, budgets, and schedules and ensure the necessary systems and procedures are implemented to manage risk. Responsible for providing direction, management and "on the job" training to Trainee Estimators, junior Estimators and Estimators. Accurately interpret and comprehend tender drawings and specifications Present all aspects of the project scope, staging, timing, constraints, risks, and potential cost saving opportunities and alternatives to bid teams and management Contribute to the management and leadership of projects through the proposal stage, including involvement in team meetings Provide value engineering. Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering, quality, or availability of materials Chair meetings and set project goals Perform and/or direct quantity take-offs from tender drawings Contribute to the risk assessment and management process – identify risk areas and bring them to the attention of the risk manager, contributing to the population of the risk register Consistently and insightfully formulate all tender costs—labour, material, equipment, and procure subcontractor scope and costs—for quotation submission Lead the estimate close‑out process, including tender reviews and sub‑proposal reviews and analysis Lead the successful transition and handover of estimating documents to the project execution teams Own the responsibilities of Estimators, Junior Estimators and Trainee Estimators, as relevant, and provide mentorship and guidance About You Holds a relevant educational qualification (degree preferred) Has experience of major project estimating, including Design‑Build Capable of reading and understanding construction drawings and documents Minimum twelve months' experience in construction site is essential Computer literate – working knowledge of Microsoft Office products Broad knowledge of scheduling and general requirements of construction projects Knowledge of construction costs Good communication skills – oral and written Self‑motivated Ability to work accurately under pressure Ability to work with others as a team Organization and strong time‑management skills This position requires knowledge of a language other than French, namely English, as the deliverables are intended for audiences located elsewhere in Canada or internationally Reward & benefits Explore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive – at every stage of your life and your career at AtkinsRéalis in Canada.
