This is a Hybrid role and client is actively hiring for this position. Role: Sr Agile Delivery Coach Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Employment Type: Contract Duration: 3 Months We are seeking a dynamic Agile Delivery Coach to empower our engineering squads and product owners to reach peak operational maturity. This is not a "Scrum Master" role in the traditional sense; it is a high-impact coaching position focused on flow optimization, outcome-based planning, and cultural transformation. You will be responsible for diagnosing delivery bottlenecks using empirical data and mentoring teams to transition from a "task-output" mindset to a high-performance "product-outcome" culture. Core Responsibilities 1. Squad Coaching & Flow Optimization Advanced Facilitation : Lead and evolve core ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, Story Mapping) into high-engagement, outcome-focused workshops. Systems Thinking : Implement and refine Kanban/Scrum practices, including explicit WIP limits, visual management, and board policies to stabilize workflows. Metric-Driven Improvement : Use Lead/Cycle Time, Throughput, and Cumulative Flow Diagrams to diagnose system bottlenecks and drive iterative delivery experiments. Backlog Excellence : Coach Product Owners on outcome-based prioritization (WSJF/RICE), user story slicing, and maintaining a high-quality Definition of Ready (DoR). Technical Flow : Partner with QA and Engineering leads to implement trunk-based habits and smaller batch sizes, reducing handoffs and rework. Dependency Orchestration : Coordinate cross-squad syncs and resolve complex impediments to ensure horizontal alignment across different delivery streams. 3. Capability Uplift & Culture Mentorship: Maintain a tailored "Coaching Backlog" for each squad, gradually transitioning facilitation ownership to team members to foster self-organization. High-Performance Dynamics : Build an environment of psychological safety and a robust feedback culture to improve team predictability and stakeholder trust. Required Qualifications Experience: 4–8+ years in delivery or product roles, with at least 2+ years of dedicated squad-level coaching. Agile Stances : Proven ability to pivot between Teaching, Mentoring, and Facilitating to drive measurable behavioral change. Data Fluency : Expert-level ability to build and interpret Jira/Azure DevOps dashboards, aging charts, and predictability reports. Product Acumen : Deep understanding of user story writing, OKRs, and value-stream mapping. Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have) Certifications: PSM/CSM, KMP (Kanban Management Professional), or ICP-ACC (Agile Coaching). Scaling Knowledge : Experience with SAFe, LeSS, or operating within a Chapter/CoP (Community of Practice) model. DevOps Awareness : Familiarity with CI/CD environments and how they impact delivery flow and quality.
