Position Summary As Serco expands its programs and partnerships in Canada, we intend to hire an experienced and accomplished Peer Support Coordinator to lead peer support engagement efforts and strengthen workforce solutions across Calgary Alberta. The position requires high energy and dynamic interaction with government customers, community partners, local job training and support service providers, local and national industry partners, employers, and job seekers. Position Description & Qualifications The Peer Support Coordinator is responsible for designing, managing, and overseeing the entire Peer Mentor program. This includes recruiting, screening, training, supervising, and supporting volunteer Peer Mentors . The Coordinator ensures Peer Support is safe, structured, and aligned with trauma‑informed principles, while integrating Peer Mentors into the broader service delivery model. The purpose of the role is to strengthen Job Seeker engagement, participation, and retention by leveraging lived experience to build trust, reduce isolation, and increase follow‑through. The Coordinator ensures Peer Mentor activities complement Case Management and Navigation functions, reinforce Action Plan goals, and contribute to improved employment outcomes. Core Responsibilities Recruit, screen, onboard, and supervise volunteer Peer Mentors. Deliver in‑house training using CMHA‑aligned materials, covering trauma‑informed practice, conflict management, confidentiality, ethics, cultural competency, disability inclusion, and duty to report. Provide ongoing coaching, monitoring, and boundary support to Peer Mentors, ensuring safe and appropriate engagement with vulnerable populations. Match Peer Mentors to Job Seekers based on lived experience, needs, and preferences. Facilitate group Peer Support sessions and introduce Peer Mentors to clients to support natural relationship‑building. Ensure Peer Mentors understand internal referral pathways and how to encourage Job Seekers to engage with Peer Support. Monitor Peer Mentor relationships, including short‑term (2–3 meetings) and occasional longer‑term connections, ensuring safety and alignment with program expectations. Coordinate with Case Managers and Service Navigators to ensure Peer Support aligns with Action Plan goals and complements professional services. Oversee documentation of Peer Support interactions in Compass and ensure compliance with Service Standards. Track Peer Support metrics, including participation, satisfaction, engagement, and contributions to employment outcomes. Maintain program quality, safety, and continuous improvement through regular review of feedback and performance data. Qualifications 3 years coordinating service delivery across multi‑provider networks. 2 years experience with projects of similar scope and complexity, including volunteer management and work with vulnerable populations. 2 years experience managing government‑funded social services programs, including performance‑based budgets and reporting. Demonstrated experience applying trauma‑informed practice, conflict management, and ethical decision‑making. Strong facilitation, coaching, and relationship‑building skills. Ability to maintain boundaries, confidentiality, and safe practice standards. Experience delivering training and supporting volunteers in structured programs.
