MISSION The Electrical Sales Representative will play a pivotal role in building the company’s presence in the Halifax region from the ground up within the electrical distribution market. As the sole representative for the electrical division in Halifax, in collaboration with our partner ABB, you will be responsible for developing the market from its foundation, identifying and securing new business opportunities, and establishing a strong network of clients and partners across the region. This is a highly entrepreneurial role where you will create and shape the local customer base, while delivering exceptional service and laying the groundwork for long-term growth and success. RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to the Electrical Division Manager and the Halifax Branch Manager, the Sales Representative will: Develop and execute sales strategies to establish and grow market presence, building a new customer base from the ground up, with no existing portfolio in the region. Identify and prospect new customers through cold calling, networking, and other business development activities. Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with customers and industry partners. Actively establish the company’s presence in a new territory and contribute to defining the local market approach and positioning. Provide technical expertise and product guidance on Powrmatic’s electrical solutions. Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure timely follow‑up on customer needs. Prepare quotations and provide technical support, documentation, and sales assistance to prospective customers. Generate sales reports and support branch initiatives and daily operations related to the electrical industry. Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments. QUALIFICATIONS Strong knowledge of electrical products and the electrical industry (contractors and suppliers). Minimum of 5-7 years of sales experience with an electrical distributor. Excellent customer service skills with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships. Strong business acumen with a high level of integrity. Entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial mindset, with the confidence and drive to build a market from the ground up. Excellent verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal influence skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently. Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle. Diploma and/or certification in Electrical Studies (an asset).
