Who are we? Chrono Aviation was founded in Quebec City in 2012. In its early days, the airline operated a Pilatus PC-12 and employed two pilots. Chrono is a Quebec-based airline offering planes that can accommodate between 9 and 189 passengers, exclusively for charter flights. With bases in Montreal and Quebec City, Chrono continues its expansion, reinforcing its position as a leader in the charter flight industry in Quebec and Canada.Role and Context The Financial Controller oversees the company’s financial and accounting activities to ensure the accuracy of financial information, regulatory compliance, and the sound management of financial resources. They are responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining effective internal controls, and ensuring compliance with financial policies, while supporting management in strategic decision-making. The Controller also serves as a resource person for the accounting team and works closely with the various departments across the organization. They act as a key partner to the Finance Director, contributing to strategic decisions and to the development of the finance function.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee accounting operations and ensure the reliability of financial information in accordance with applicable standardsPrepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsEstablish and maintain effective internal controlsParticipate in budget preparation and monitor budget variancesOversee month-end and year-end closing processesEnsure compliance with tax and regulatory requirementsCollaborate with external auditors during financial auditsProvide financial analyses to management to support decision-makingIdentify and implement opportunities to optimize financial processes and systems, including automation and analytical toolsLead, engage, and develop the accounting team while fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvementPlay a key role in the evolution of financial practices and in structuring the finance functionKey SkillsProfessional rigourAnalytical mindsetLeadership and coaching skillsJudgment and sense of responsibilityAbility to manage prioritiesSpecific Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or AdministrationCPA designation considered a strong assetMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or financeProven experience leading and engaging an accounting teamExcellent knowledge of accounting standards (ASPE or IFRS)Proficiency in accounting systems and financial analysis tools, including advanced Excel; experience with automation or BI tools is an assetAbility to prepare and interpret financial analyses to support strategic decision-makingFluency in French is required for this position.
