General Manager, Operations Date: 12 May 2026 Location: Etobicoke, ON, CA Company: Alstom We are seeking a full‑time General Manager for Etobicoke, Ontario. The role focuses on ensuring seamless and cost‑effective maintenance operations of GO Transit and UP Express fleets, supporting a transition to 15‑minute service, driving continuous improvement, and leading cross‑functional teams. Your future role Directly manage the Maintenance team for GO Transit and UP Express fleets (approximately 855 employees). Ensure safe, prompt, and courteous service in accordance with corporate policies, government regulations, and Canadian Rail Operating Rules. Oversee train maintenance performance reports and coordinate with host railways. Develop and maintain training/refresher programs to ensure competence. Conduct operational audits and ensure proper incident reporting, investigation, and preventive actions. Supervise and coordinate work activities of the management team to optimize efficiency. Maintain financial records, control expenditures, and prepare reports. Design and implement new policies and procedures as needed. Act as liaison between the site and the corporation. All About You CROR qualification or certification in Canadian Rail Operating Rules (asset). 10+ years of management responsibility in a manufacturing or maintenance environment. Strong working knowledge of railroad operating rules and regulations. Locomotive Engineer qualification (asset). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse disciplines and levels. Knowledge of budgetary requirements and long‑range planning. Sound business judgment and the ability to influence at all levels. Strong interpersonal skills for training and coaching. Proficiency in MS Office applications. Compensation The expected compensation for this role is $190,000 to $210,000, based on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
