Role Description This is a full-time hybrid Associate Lawyer role based in Ancaster, ON, with occasional remote work opportunities. The Associate Lawyer will handle a diverse range of cases, including corporate and commercial transactions, real estate matters, and wills and estates. Responsibilities include managing real estate closings; preparing legal documents, wills, and powers of attorney; preparing corporate documents; drafting contracts; providing legal advice and representation to clients; managing case files effectively; maintaining frequent client communication; and collaborating with other team members. Qualifications Strong legal analysis, research, and writing skills Ability to manage files from intake to reporting with minimal oversight Tech-savvy: Able to adapt to new software Proficiency in (or a desire to master) modern legal software, including Clio, LawyerDoneDeal, E-State Planner, and Estateably Experience with contract drafting, review, and negotiation Competency in client representation, advocacy, and dispute resolution Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities Proficient in managing case files and meeting deadlines Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, and client communication skills Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO) with a J.D. or LL.B. degree. Candidates must demonstrate 2+ years of substantive experience practicing law in Ontario concerning Ontario Real Estate law, Wills/Estates laws, and Corporate law.
