Senior Journeyperson Gasfitter — Class APay:$45.00–$58.00 per hour, depending on experience, certification, and employer requirementsJob Type:Full-timeSchedule:Day shift, with possible overtime, on-call rotation, or project-based work depending on employer needsAbout the Role This opportunity is best suited to a senior-level gasfitter with strong technical ability, solid troubleshooting skills, and experience working safely on commercial, industrial, institutional, or large residential gas systems.The ideal candidate is confident reading drawings, diagnosing gas equipment issues, completing installations and service work, following code requirements, and working independently or as part of a mechanical service team.This role may involve gas piping, appliance installation, system upgrades, service calls, preventative maintenance, combustion-related troubleshooting, and coordination with other trades on active job sites.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, service, repair, and maintain gas systems and gas-fired equipmentWork on commercial, industrial, institutional, or large residential gas equipmentRead and interpret drawings, specifications, service documents, and technical manualsDiagnose system issues and complete safe, accurate repairsInstall and test gas piping, venting, regulators, controls, and related componentsPerform leak testing, pressure testing, start-up checks, and system inspectionsFollow applicable gas codes, safety procedures, site rules, and permit requirementsCommunicate clearly with supervisors, clients, inspectors, and other tradesMaintain accurate service records, work orders, and job documentationSupport apprentices or junior technicians when requiredQualificationsClass A Gasfitter certification, or equivalent senior gas certification for the provinceStrong experience with commercial, industrial, or higher-capacity gas systemsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skillsValid driver’s licence and clean driving record may be requiredAbility to read drawings, technical manuals, and service documentationStrong understanding of job site safety, lockout procedures, and regulated gas workHVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, boiler, or mechanical service experience is considered an assetRed Seal, dual-ticket, or additional trade certification is considered an assetIdeal Candidate You may be a strong fit if you are an experienced gasfitter who has worked on larger systems, commercial service calls, mechanical rooms, boilers, rooftop units, process equipment, industrial facilities, institutional buildings, or high-demand service environments.This position is not aimed at entry-level helpers.
