A well-established Toronto packaging manufacturer is seeking an experienced (Hybrid) Senior Procurement Specialist to join its organization in a key operational and strategic role. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in procurement within a manufacturing environment and possess the ability to build global supplier partnerships while ensuring continuity of supply, cost efficiency, and operational excellence. The successful candidate is a proactive and commercially minded procurement professional who understands the demands of a manufacturing environment and can confidently manage international sourcing relationships while supporting operational success across the business. Position Description This position will support the company’s packaging manufacturing operations through effective sourcing, supplier management, and procurement leadership with a strong focus on overseas supply chains and strategic purchasing initiatives. Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for raw materials, packaging components, and manufacturing supplies Manage supplier relationships with both domestic and international vendors Oversee overseas procurement activities, including sourcing from Asia and other global markets Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, and long-term supplier agreements Monitor market conditions, freight trends, tariffs, and global supply chain risks impacting production and material availability Work closely with production, operations, inventory, logistics, and finance teams to support manufacturing requirements Identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities and procurement efficiencies Evaluate supplier performance related to quality, delivery, service, and pricing Coordinate supplier audits, onboarding, and continuous improvement initiatives Assist in inventory management and forecasting to support production schedules Resolve supply chain disruptions and develop contingency sourcing strategies Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and quality standards Experience 5+ years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience within packaging, printing, or plastics manufacturing industries Strong understanding of overseas supply chains and international sourcing practices Experience with global suppliers, managing import logistics, freight forwarding, customs, international trade practices Experience working with ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment Excellent negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills Education Post‑secondary education in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related field preferred CPSM, CSCP, or related procurement designation considered an asset Compensation *The stated compensation range reflects the full scope of the role as currently structured and is provided in accordance with pay transparency requirements.
