Overview The Portfolio Growth & Innovation Manager is a highly visible internal consultant within the Canadian BU, responsible for leveraging advanced analytical techniques to translate complex data into robust growth strategies and breakthrough innovation. You will independently lead data-intensive business cases, socially share analytically-backed strategies with senior stakeholders to secure buy‑in, and drive profitable growth by leading cross‑category innovation through the Stage‑Gate process, ensuring each initiative is backed by a rigorous business case. Responsibilities Support portfolio strategy that aligns with the category vision to drive sustainable brand growth and deliver business objectives. Support profit and loss management and future business development plans and objectives, including new product development and platform opportunities. Lead data‑intensive business cases and socialize analytically‑backed strategies with senior stakeholders. Drive profitable growth by leading cross‑category innovation through the Stage‑Gate process, ensuring each initiative is backed by a rigorous business case. Build commercial strategy and leverage advanced analytics on diverse, complex data sets (consumer, competitive, sales) to build evidence‑based, actionable insights. Continuously monitor and predict macro‑economic, market, category, and competitive trends through data‑driven foresight. Identify and recommend new growth opportunities, backed by rigorous analytical assessments. Translate business objectives into clear, measurable initiatives and roadmaps. Craft compelling, data‑driven growth narratives for internal and external audiences. Prepare executive‑level strategic materials, clearly articulating analytical rigor and implications. Develop robust business cases for cross‑category and breakthrough innovation, moving them through the Stage‑Gate process; include robust financials, clear pricing strategy, and strong go‑to‑marketing strategies. Collaborate with and influence cross‑functional teams in the Stage‑Gate process including sales, supply chain, finance, and R&D. Lead select marketing capabilities enhancements & training for the marketing organization. Participate in special projects as needed. Qualifications Consumer behavior, preferably in the consumer goods sector in a matrix environment. Experience developing a seamless consumer experience. Experience managing business objectives beyond brand and budget. Analytical and creative mindset. Experience leading and influencing teams and managing trade‑offs. Effective communication skills, verbal and written, with executive presentation abilities. Experience working in markets with diverse economic environments is a distinct advantage. Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (MBA a plus). Job‑Specific Requirements 6+ years of experience in consulting and/or large CPG companies, with a significant portion dedicated to data strategy, advanced analytics, research or innovation roles. Manager‑level experience in advanced quantitative & qualitative analysis. Proven experience leading cross‑functional strategic initiatives, informed by deep analytical insights. Solid understanding of marketing and commercial levers (e.g., customer insights, brand, pricing, channels). Experience in Stage‑Gate process leading innovation business cases. Exceptional communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills; able to synthesize complex data, analytical findings, and strategic implications for executive audiences with big‑picture thinking. Schedule and Compensation Monday to Friday (Hybrid). The expected base salary range for this position is $112,900 to $141,150 CAD, depending on experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition, this position is eligible to participate in a highly competitive bonus program with a target of 14%, with potential for overachievement based on performance and company results.
