The role requires working independently, building key business relationships in the local industrial sector, and may involve travel outside of the office to industrial sites around Western Canada on an ad hoc basis. This position could be based in our Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton or Saskatoon offices.Primary responsibilitiesTake part in all stages of projectsDevelop technical solutionsProduce drawings and specificationsProduce equipment specificationsCoordinate among stakeholdersLead other electrical engineers that assist on projectsProvide technical support for various clientsAnalyze proposals and issue recommendations for procurementParticipate in site surveysEngage with existing and potential customers to bring new projects to CIMA+QualificationsUniversity diploma in Electrical EngineeringRegistered (or eligible to register as) member of Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EBGC) or a recognized Professional Engineering Association in Canada (P.Eng preferred)Minimum of 12+ years of experience in heavy industryIn-depth knowledge of issues related to industrial productionAvailable to work outside of the office on an occasional basisNice to Have (Technical knowledge)In depth knowledge of engineering consulting best practices for project management and project executionPower system modelling including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flashGrounding studies and grounding designProtection relay and VFD parameter settingsPower distribution equipment sizing, specification, and procurementInstrumentation and field wiring of control systems2D drafting in AutoCADCalculations including cable pull, heat trace, volt drop, cable sizingFormal technical reviews such as HAZOPPrepare project proposals/bidsEstimate electrical equipment and labour costsConstructability planningThe expected salary for this position is based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity.
