The position NovoPower is seeking a highly experienced product dev/R&D engineer with a passion for cleantech and sustainability, to work with our engineering team and that of our partner NXT Process, to help bring our innovative systems to market. You should be passionate about innovation and energy efficiency. You should have at least 5 years’ experience in leading product dev/R&D teams. You will report to and work closely with the Chief Innovation Officer, its engineers and the NXT engineering team to design, implement and manage the process of bringing NovoPower’s systems into commercial production. You will also contribute to scale-up and developing future innovations. The position requires a generalist, able to conceive, guide and oversee work in fields ranging from refrigeration (ORC) to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, control and automation engineering. You are experienced in every step of developing engineering products as well as experimentation, data collection and analysis. You have strong organizational and management skills, and have built and led small teams. You are naturally organized, and have experience developing and managing documentation systems. This position is based at NovoPower’s offices in the Plateau Mont-Royal and at NXT’s shop in St-Léonard, with opportunities for occasional remote work as circumstances permit. Key Skills 5+ years experience as product dev/R&D engineer in the industrial space Strong background in thermodynamics, controls, electrical and mechanical engineering and systems engineering. A self-starter, collaborator and team player. Adaptive working style suitable to working in a fast‑paced environment. Your responsibilities Work closely with the CIO to plan and execute all aspects of the product development and innovation pathway. Guide and oversee work of subject matter experts (mechanical, electrical, etc.), both in-house and contractual.
