Position Overview The SAP Integration Specialist at Stella-Jones designs, builds, and supports scalable integrations across the enterprise application landscape, with core accountability for SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI/SAP Integration Suite), EDI (partner connectivity and mappings), and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services. The role balances day to day operational support and incident resolution with project-based integration delivery, ensuring secure, reliable, and performant data exchange between SAP (e.g., S/4HANA, Ariba) and non SAP systems to enable seamless business processes. The specialist partners with business stakeholders, solution architects, and external trading partners to translate requirements into robust technical designs, implement, monitor, and support integrations in production, and drive continuous improvements in quality, automation, observability, and operational stability. This position will be based at our headquarters in Montreal (Saint-Laurent) with a hybrid schedule (typically 3 days in-office / 2 days remote once a period of integration is complete), and may involve up to 5% travel to company locations in Canada and the United States. Key Responsibilities Define integration patterns (synchronous/asynchronous, publish–subscribe, batch/real-time), data models, mapping strategies, and error handling frameworks. Establish and maintain integration standards, naming conventions, versioning, and reusability guidelines. Utilize SAP BTP services (e.g., Cloud Foundry, Kyma, Destination, Connectivity, Cloud Identity Services) to extend and operationalize integration use cases. Implement APIs via SAP API Management, including policies for security, throttling, caching, and observability. Own day to day monitoring, alerting, and incident response for integration landscapes, using SAP Integration Suite monitoring, Cloud ALM/Solution Manager, and partner portals. Troubleshoot failures (payload analysis, reprocessing, root cause analysis), and implement proactive fixes and observability improvements. Collaborate with business, functional consultants, and vendors to prioritize backlog, estimate effort, and deliver projects on time. Contribute to roadmaps for integration modernization. Establish contact with trading partners, analyzing the data exchanged, observing data records to record any errors, and correcting any failures. Works with employees at all levels to support accurate, proper data exchange within the organization. Assists with any testing to observe and interpret messages received and offers updates to the immediate supervisor. Analyzes, designs and develops specifications for enhancements and extensions to electronic data interchange application interfaces and maps. Tests, implements and maintains EDI transactions. Provides technical expertise and support for EDI communications. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of industry experience working with SAP BTP, CPI and EDI technologies. Proficiency in English, spoken and written. Strong analytical and problem-solving, with ownership mindset.
