Overview Grey Mountain Housing Society is seeking a Property & Operations Manager to support safe, affordable housing for Indigenous families in Whitehorse. The Society manages 69 homes across 41 properties, with all maintenance delivered through external contractors. This role is part of a small, collaborative team and plays a key role in maintaining an aging housing portfolio and planning for long‑term asset needs. The Property & Operations Manager must be comfortable making informed decisions and managing multiple projects, contractors, and priorities in a collaborative environment. This role requires sound judgment, strong operational insight, and a deep understanding of Indigenous housing needs and landlord‑tenant obligations. Key Responsibilities Asset & Property Management Lead preventive maintenance and long‑term capital planning Conduct property inspections and identify repair and replacement needs Maintain asset records and ensure compliance with safety and building standards Prepare scopes of work, estimates, and procurement documents Recommend upgrades and capital investments Maintenance Operations Coordinate maintenance and repair requests, including emergencies Oversee external contractors and monitor quality, timelines, and safety Improve maintenance workflows and service standardsMaintain vendor lists and contractor relationships Leasing & Tenant Support Support viewings, unit allocations, move‑ins, and move‑outs Ensure units are safe and ready for occupancy Provide maintenance updates to tenant services Identify and communicate issues affecting housing stability Support positive relationships with tenants and neighbours Operational Planning & Reporting Develop annual maintenance and asset work plans Monitor budgets and ensure compliance with funder requirements Improve systems for work orders, contractor coordination, and reporting Prepare operational and asset reports for the Executive Director Foster a respectful, culturally informed work environment Work with Indigenous partners and community organizations Participate in planning, policy development, and strategic initiatives Act as designate for the Executive Director when required What you bring Post‑secondary education in property management, building technology, construction management, business administration, a relevant trade, or a related field 5+ years in property management, maintenance operations, or asset management Experience managing contractors and capital or maintenance projects Knowledge of building systems and landlord‑tenant legislation Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills Ability to work independently in a small team Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset Valid Class 5 driver's licence and reliable vehicle Acceptable Criminal Record Check A hiring preference applies for qualified candidates of Canadian Indigenous ancestry, with priority for qualified Yukon First Nation candidates. #J-18808-Ljbffr
