What You’ll Do Support the execution of our technical services including performing various advanced generation and transmission related modeling and analyses including advanced modeling of emerging technologies, load flow analysis, short circuit assessment, transient and sub-transient analysis and production cost modeling. Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of North American regional transmission, generation, and large-load planning processes, applicable NERC planning standards, and relevant regional business manuals, handbooks, and procedures. Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders, including providing status updates, responding to inquiries, and representing ZEG in external stakeholder meetings. Prepare high-quality technical deliverables, including technical reports, white papers, and presentations. Participate in industry forums and thought‑leadership activities to stay current with emerging trends and best practices. Foster innovation and creative problem‑solving to address industry challenges with effective and efficient solutions. Develop or modify automation scripts to improve the efficiency of grid‑wide simulations. Contribute to the team’s research and innovation initiatives, including the development of new analytical tools and techniques. Required Qualifications Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited institution in electrical engineering (Ph.D. preferred). Minimum of one year of relevant experience in power grid analytics, power markets, and grid code compliance within North America. Relevant post‑graduate research and coursework may be considered towards this requirement. Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in performing advanced power grids analytics using PSCAD/EMTDC, PSS/E, TARA or DSA tools. Proven track record of activities and contributions to relevant industry thought leadership forums. In‑depth understanding of the fundamentals of electric power systems, inverter‑based resources, FACTs, and their control philosophy. Strong attention to detail. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Excellent presentation and report writing skills. Ability to work in a dynamic team environment. Travel expected to be approximately up to 10% of the time. Pre‑employment drug and background screening will be conducted. Other Requirements Ability to successfully complete at least two supervised technical interviews and assignments.
