Selection process number 26-RCM-IA-K-CGY-PROS- Salary $68,849 to $74,180 Level AS-02-SP-ADM-02 Who can apply Persons employed in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police occupying a position and residing in Calgary, Alberta and within a 40 kilometer radius. ('Persons employed' includes Regular Members (RM), Civilian Members (CM), and Public Service (PS) employees in the RCMP). Duties The PROS Data Centre (PDC) provides support to frontline police officers by completing their data entries. This primarily involves transcribing reports recorded by police officers and entering the required data into a variety of computer platforms. This operational assistance enhances the quality and accuracy of police records and reduces the time a police officer may spend in front of a computer so they can concentrate their efforts towards police investigations. Manages all human aspects of the PROS Data Centre. Supervises 4 to 10 PROS clerks. Organizes staff shift schedules and authorizes all leave requests. Initiates and co‑ordinates staffing of vacant positions and training of new employees. Liaises with Detachment Commanders and District Commanders on service delivery. Carries out field assignments to review and document existing procedures and systems. Manages financial aspects of the PROS Data Centre. Procures supplies and equipment required by the PROS Data Centre. Intent of the process The intent of this process is to staff a position on a indeterminate basis in Calgary, Alberta, and create a pool of qualified candidates. The pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment and secondment) within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Should a Public Service (PS) employee be found qualified and selected for appointment, notification regarding the PS appointment, if applicable, will be posted on in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act. Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process. Positions to be filled 1 Conditions of employment RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status (ERS) security clearance. Those selected must meet and maintain the above condition of employment throughout their employment. The process requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of credit/finances, education, employment, references, etc. Operational Requirements Willingness and ability to work overtime as required. Willingness and ability to work in a busy police environment, which may include exposure to unsetting and/or graphic material. Possession of a valid provincial driver's license or the mobility normally associated with the possession of a valid driver's license.
