Key Responsibilities Responsible for construction of scenic elements and staging for productions. Operate and maintain counterweight fly system. Supervise call‑in IATSE carpentry shop and stage crews. Provide support for rentals, as required. Attend production/technical meetings, as required. Ensure a safe and clean work environment. Abide by safe workplace guidelines and rules, including Code of Conduct and Anti‑Discrimination policies. Assist with facility/venue maintenance, as required. Carry out other tasks requested. Qualifications and Skills Strong proficiency in construction of scenery, sets, and staging. Advanced shop/carpentry skills required. Ability to read/understand shop drawings. Working knowledge of Vectorworks is an asset. Basic welding skills are an asset. Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. Work well independently and collaboratively. Work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Valid Class 5 Drivers License. First Aid training is an asset. Fall arrest/aerial lift training is an asset. Team player with a love of theatre and performing arts. Willingness to learn new skills across departments. Successful candidate must become a member of, and maintain good standing in, IATSE local #300. Salary and Benefits The salary is $28.40/hour, paid bi‑weekly, as per the collective bargaining agreement between Persephone Theatre and I.A.T.S.E local 300. Anticipated hours are 40/week; weekly hours will fluctuate in response to production demands. Overtime is governed under the collective agreement and will be calculated as per clause 16.1.5.
