Job Description Join our team as a Senior Specialist, Compensation! In this role, you will be an individual contributor responsible for advancing the design, analytics, and governance of compensation programs across the organization. This role combines strong analytical expertise with program ownership to ensure compensation practices are competitive, equitable, and aligned with organizational strategy. It also serves as a key advisor to HR and business leaders, translating complex data into insights and recommendations that inform compensation decisions at scale.This position is based at our Home Office in Calgary, Alberta.What You’ll DoContribute to the development and continuous refinement of the compensation strategy, providing data-driven recommendations, while leading the design and ongoing enhancement of key compensation componentsEvaluate program effectiveness and recommend enhancements based on analytics, market data, and business needsLead complex compensation analyses, including workforce segmentation, pay equity and cost modeling, while building and maintaining robust models to support compensation planning, scenario analysis, and forecastingSynthesize large datasets into clear insights and narratives to guide leadership decision-makingContinuously enhance data integrity, reporting frameworks, and analytics capabilities within compensationPlay a lead role in the annual compensation cycle, including planning, modeling, execution, and post-cycle analysis, while partnering with Finance to support budgeting and forecasting of incentive programs, identifying trends and risksEnsure accurate and efficient execution of compensation programs through strong processes and controlsLead market research and benchmarking activities across Canada and the U.S.Interpret survey data and external trends to inform pay positioning and program designPrepare and submit compensation surveys, ensuring data quality and relevanceProvide expert guidance to Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, and leaders on compensation decisions, providing support for complex or sensitive compensation cases with thorough analysis and recommendationsDevelop tools, guidelines, and frameworks to enable consistent, data-informed decision-makingEnsure compliance with applicable legislation, including pay equity across jurisdictions, while supporting and enhancing compensation governance practices, policies, and audit controlsLead the job evaluation process, providing analytical rigor and well-supported recommendationsTranslate technical compensation concepts into clear, accessible materials for stakeholders, while supporting the development of total rewards statements and communication materialsEnhance organizational understanding of compensation programs and processesSupport the design of job architecture, job evaluation, and overall compensation design for Canada and the USPerform additional duties as needed to support team and organizational goalsWhat You BringBachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics or statistics, human resources, Commerce or Business AdministrationIntermediate to senior level experience in compensation (4+ years experience)Completion of CCP or Certified Compensation Professional designation (or working towards)Experience successfully implementing new compensation structuresExperience in budgeting and/or workforce planning is considered an assetExperience in job evaluation and salary structure design, as well as knowledge of pay equity legislationExperience with the Mercer and Towers surveys and on-line toolsUnderstanding of the holistic role total rewards play in the employee value proposition, with knowledge of benefits, recognition and rewards, and workplace practices considered an assetAdvanced proficiency in Excel, with an intermediate working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applicationsStrong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and data visualization and storytelling skillsOutstanding oral and written communication skillsAbility to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environmentA collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player with a growth mindset, able to manage changing priorities effectivelyExperience with UKG is considered an assetBilingualism English/French is considered an assetHow You'll BenefitA comprehensive total rewards package, including two free pairs of glasses and lenses per yearA coaching culture that fosters ongoing growth and development opportunitiesA people-first culture, (but dogs are also welcome)An organization that gives back locally and nationally, and supports you in doing so as wellWhy You Should Join Us FYihealth group is Canada's leading diversified healthcare organization comprised of FYidoctors, Visique, BonLook, and solis optics.
