Finance Project Lead The Finance Project Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing financial projects and initiatives that support organizational and departmental goals. This role partners closely with Finance, Accounting, IT, and cross‑functional business teams to deliver process improvements, system implementations, financial analysis, and strategic initiatives. The Finance Project Lead ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, appropriately monitored and documented, and aligned with financial governance and compliance standards. Responsibilities Lead end‑to‑end delivery of finance‑related projects, including scoping, planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution. Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource requirements. Analyze, design, and optimize organizational workflows to increase efficiency and improve productivity through project execution. Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies. Drive stakeholder communication, preparing status updates and executive summaries. Analyze financial data to support project objectives, business cases, ROI evaluations, and scenario modeling. Prepare project‑specific financial reports, dashboards, and insights. Ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance of financial outputs. Create detailed process maps, documentation, and Standard Operating Procedures. Identify inefficiencies within financial processes and propose continuous improvement initiatives. Lead workshops to document current‑state workflows and design future‑state processes. Implement best practices in financial reporting, forecasting, and operational controls. Support finance system upgrades and implementations (e.g., ERP, Dashboards, BI platforms). Coordinate testing, training, user acceptance, and change management activities. Provide project needs analysis, development, and delivery of software and report demonstrations. Collaborate with IT to ensure system solutions meet finance requirements. Act as an escalation point for operational issues in collaboration with IT and business stakeholders. Define key performance indicators and metrics to measure and monitor the success of new processes. Work closely with accounting, FP&A , operations, HR, procurement, and other departments. Facilitate communication across stakeholder groups to align project expectations. Train staff and support the transition to new, optimized ways of working. Manage vendors or consultants as needed. Ensure projects adhere to internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory frameworks. Develop and maintain project documentation, policies, and procedures. Support internal and external audit activities as required. Qualifications Minimum 3–5 years of experience in project management, business process analysis, or a related area. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or a related field. Experience working with ERP systems; knowledge of system capabilities and configurations. ERP implementation experience is an asset. Proficient in process mapping tools (e.g., Visio) and productivity tools (Excel, Tableau, Workday, etc.). Experience with data analysis and performance measurement (KPIs, dashboards, reporting tools). Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma); certification is an asset. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a detail‑oriented mindset. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across departments and levels. Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10%) and work flexible hours when required.
