Responsibilities Reporting to the General Supervisor, Environmental, you will be part of the Environment Department. You will manage the planning, organization, supervision, and control of reclamation activities and studies related to the environmental field. Some projects will include fish habitat offsetting plans, environmental site assessment (ESA), revegetation planning, landfarm & landfill closures, closure water quality monitoring program, and other environmental monitoring programs. You will lead the project from the evaluation phase to the final selection of the restoration concept, its implementation, and monitoring of performance. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. Establish the objectives of the reclamation projects under their responsibility; Coordinate the development and amendment of rehabilitation design criteria in accordance with company and industry policies and standards; Develop and update the budget & cost estimate of the reclamation projects; Build and update schedule, monitoring tools and key performance indicators (KPIs) for each project; Report these KPIs at the required frequency; Lead the process of external work requests related to the projects (from the tender/Scope of Work document until the end of the execution of the work and follow up and reporting); Coordinate field programs with operations and consultants, ensuring programs are executed on time; Lead, in collaboration with the permitting group, the preparation of permit applications necessary for reclamation activities; Participate in updating closure plans required responding to site activities and develop research plans in order to close gaps in the closure plan to assist with future implementation; Update the Closure Project Execution Plan, as related to environmental reclamation projects; Proactively get involved in mine operation activities to assess the potential impact of changes (MOC) on the reclamation plan and costs; Act as an Agnico representative in discussions with government authorities and community members; Ensure proper document control of the activities under their responsibility; Comply at all times with health, safety and environmental policies and rules; Completion of various other projects assigned by the Environment General Supervisor as necessary. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field; 5+ years of experience in the mining industry with experience in mine closure & reclamation; Strong knowledge of mine reclamation concepts, methods and regulations in Canada; Arctic experience is considered an asset; Ability to work under pressure; AutoCAD and GIS experience are considered an asset; Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word, Project & PowerPoint. Benefits Your work schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Frequent visits to the site on a 7/7 schedule will be required (once per month).
