Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and hands‑on Mineral Process Engineer to support laboratory and pilot-scale hydrometallurgical programs, with a primary focus on column leaching test work and leaching parameter optimization. This role is execution‑focused and requires someone comfortable with physical lab work, experimental setup, sampling, and structured data reporting. The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Process Engineer and play a key role in advancing leaching performance and metallurgical understanding. What You’ll Do Column Leaching Operations Sample preparation, charge, and operate column leaching systems Manage irrigation systems and monitor flow rates Collect and log PLS samples Monitor and control leaching parameters (pH, ORP, temperature, acid consumption, irrigation rate) Perform solid and solution sampling for analysis Assist with ore preparation (drying, crushing, homogenizing, screening) Maintain accurate experimental records and logs Support troubleshooting of leaching systems Maintain laboratory cleanliness and safety standards Data Analysis & Reporting Compile and interpret ICP and assay data Calculate copper recovery, acid consumption, and mass balances Track leaching kinetics and performance trends Prepare structured weekly technical summaries and reports Present findings and observations to senior engineers What You’ll Need BSc. or MSc. in Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing or Mining Engineering 3–6 years of relevant experience in hydrometallurgy or mineral processing Hands‑on experience with: Column leaching or heap leaching simulation, acid leaching systems, sampling and metallurgical accounting Physically capable of handling materials, lifting samples, and working in lab/pilot environments Strong Excel and data organization skills Technical Skills Required Understanding of leaching kinetics and hydrometallurgical fundamentals Ability to interpret solution chemistry and metallurgical data Basic mass balance calculations Familiarity with ICP assay interpretation Good documentation and reporting skills Personal Attributes Detail‑oriented and disciplined in record keeping Comfortable performing repetitive but critical experimental work Self‑motivated and proactive Team‑oriented with a strong safety mindset This is a full‑time, on‑site position with pH7 Technologies, based at our Met Lab in New West. Regular on‑site presence is required. Occasional travel between pH7 locations within the Lower Mainland may be required to support project and operational needs. Salary Range: $90,000 to $120,000 Compensation packages that scale with seniority, including ESOP equity and performance‑based bonuses.
