The Human Resources Partner will provide support for a full range of Human Resources (HR) services to all levels of the business within the Senate. The role will be responsible for supporting the achievement of business objectives and goals of its clients' portfolio, while enabling the Senate to attract, engage and retain the best qualified Canadians who aspire to serve in this historic institution. The HR Partner serves as the primary liaison and point of contact between the HR Directorate, Senate Administration Leadership and senators’ offices in order to drive business results through the development and implementation of HR strategies, solutions, and best practices. The HR Partner will leverage their knowledge and stakeholder management skills to deliver programs and services that are adapted to their client portfolio. This role focuses on advising clients on HR-related issues and policies, including talent acquisition and management, organizational effectiveness, performance management, workforce planning, and employee engagement. The HR Partner will also provide presentations and reports (e.g. KPI summary dashboards, exit interviews summarized data and HR trends, etc.) to various audiences. Prerequisites Completion of a post‑secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience. A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible HR experience, including providing strategic advisory services to leaders in the areas of talent acquisition and management, organizational effectiveness, performance management, and workforce planning. Experience interpreting HR policies, and applying related procedures, using data and analytics to drive decision‑making and provide actionable insights. Proven ability to build strong partnerships and trusted relationships with organizational leaders and stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership in guiding and advising business units on people strategies and solutions. Strong ability to collaborate across HR functions and work cohesively with peers to uphold the highest standards of service. Demonstrated resilience and adaptability in navigating shifting priorities, managing ambiguity, and maintaining professionalism in complex or high‑pressure situations. Excellent diplomacy, tact, and conflict resolution skills, complemented by superior oral and written communication abilities in both official languages. Possession of a recognized Human Resources professional designation (e.g., CHRP, CHRL, CPHR) is considered a strong asset.
