Ontario’s Public Safety Radio Network (PSRN) is one of the largest and most complex public safety radio networks in North America. It covers approximately 750,000 km2 of area. PSRN serves more than 38,000 front-line and emergency responders, such as police officers, fire service staff, ambulance paramedics, with the radio communications technology, equipment, and other resources that they need to keep Ontarians safe. Responders use this technology to communicate with their dispatchers and one another when responding to emergencies.Emergency Services Telecommunications Division (ESTD) under the Ministry of Solicitor General (SOLGEN), has undertaken an ambitious project to upgrade the PSRN system. The network will be made more modern and compatible with other networks in the country. A supplier has been selected to provide equipment and services.
