Role OverviewStaff CloudOps Developer within the PayByPhone division of Corpay, located in Vancouver, BC. The role falls under the International Fleet line of business and focuses on designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure and deployment pipelines while providing technical guidance and mentorship. ResponsibilitiesContribute to and drive large-scale technical and architecture discussions. Collaborate with development, security engineering, and compliance stakeholders throughout the design, development, and operations lifecycle. Provide technical support to developers using platform services. Develop and maintain infrastructure code, producing well‑factored and tested code. Build and manage CI/CD pipelines, continuously improving reliability, speed, and reducing change lead time. Improve container (EKS/ECS) based infrastructure for agility, security, and team enablement. Improve team development process, technical practices, and coding standards. Develop tools to enhance developer productivity. Champion automation of manual processes and reduce operational overhead. Make code‑review suggestions, respond constructively to feedback, and learn. Participate in the on‑call rotation to provide after‑hours support to critical infrastructure. Qualifications & Skills7+ years industry experience delivering significant feature sets and infrastructure automation projects. Strong hands‑on experience with a cloud provider, ideally AWS. Recent hands‑on experience with EKS or Kubernetes, cluster management, and microservices deployment. Recent experience with GitOps using FluxCD or ArgoCD. Hands‑on experience with DevOps tools: VCS (GitHub, GitLab), Ansible, Artifactory, Synk, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation). Experience building CI/CD pipelines and proficiency in at least one programming language for delivering production backend services. Strong fundamentals in networking, infrastructure, Linux and Windows. Life‑long learner, self‑starter, able to become productive quickly in unfamiliar technology or codebase. Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams. Interest and proven experience improving team standards and processes.
