Our Client is one of North America's leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico.Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.Job Description Our Client is seeking a skilled and experienced Network Designer to join their network engineering and design team. This role is responsible for designing, planning, and evolving robust, scalable, and secure network infrastructures that support enterprise services and business growth. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise across routing, switching, WAN, and modern network architectures, coupled with the ability to translate business requirements into effective network designs.What Success Looks LikeDelivering high-quality, scalable network designs aligned to business objectivesReducing operational complexity through standardized and optimized designsActing as a trusted technical advisor for network strategy and innovationResponsibilitiesNetwork Design & ArchitectureDesign and develop scalable, resilient network solutions across LAN, WAN, data center.Produce high-level and low-level design (HLD/LLD) documents with clear implementation guidanceEvaluate and recommend network technologies, platforms, and vendorsEnsure designs align with enterprise architecture standards and security policiesProject DeliveryCollaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and operations teams to deliver network solutionsLead or contribute to end-to-end network design lifecycle, from requirements to implementation handoffProvide technical leadership on complex initiatives and network transformation projectsOperational Support & OptimizationWork with operations teams to troubleshoot escalated network issues when requiredIdentify opportunities to optimize performance, reliability, and cost efficiencySupport capacity planning and network performance analysisSecurity & ComplianceIntegrate secure design principles (e.g., segmentation, zero trust, access control)Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirementsDocumentation & StandardsMaintain accurate network diagrams, standards, and technical documentationContribute to design guidelines, best practices, and reusable templatesQualifications5+ years of experience in network design, engineering, or architectureProven experience designing enterprise-scale networksExperience working in multi-site, hybrid, or cloud-connected environments, SDWANStrong knowledge of:Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)Layer 2/3 technologies (VLANs, STP, VXLAN, MPLS)WAN technologies (IPSec, SD-WAN, MPLS, Internet-based VPNs)Data center networking architectures (spine-leaf, fabric-based)Hands-on or design-level experience with:Network security (firewalls, segmentation, NAC)Cloud networking (Azure, AWS, or hybrid connectivity)Familiarity with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible) is an assetNice-to-HaveExperience with SDN and intent-based networkingExposure to network observability/telemetry platformsExperience in large enterprise or service provider environmentsSoft Skills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to balance technical depth with business prioritiesSelf-driven with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamStrong documentation and presentation skillsEducation and CertificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.CCNP / CCIE (Enterprise or equivalent)SDWAN experience is an asset#J-18808-Ljbffr
