Job Overview As an Actuarial Consultant/Senior Actuarial Consultant (Personal Lines Pricing – Regulated Automobile, Ontario), you will lead auto pricing analysis for the Ontario region with high autonomy. The role includes mentoring actuarial analysts, applying expertise to complex business problems, and delivering strategic insights. We are open to hiring at either the Actuarial Consultant or Senior Actuarial Consultant level. Job Responsibilities Analytical Research, extract, and manipulate complex data from relevant sources, assessing data quality. Support the business and overall team by performing analyses/reviews and completing ad‑hoc requests or special projects in a timely manner with minimal support. Industry Identify emerging industry trends and analyze their impact on Wawanesa. Stakeholder Management Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, anticipate obstacles, and raise them in advance. Project Management Lead projects from beginning to end, including implementation of the final product. May include training and documentation. Coaching & Developing Others Provide feedback, instruction, and development guidance to help others excel in current or future responsibilities. Build trust and credibility with peers and develop strong working relationships across teams. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline. More than four years of actuarial experience is an asset. 7 CAS exams or ACAS designation is an asset. Communication/Building Relationships Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology and insights meaningfully. Computer/Programming Skills Proficiency with Excel, SQL, R, Python, Radar, and/or other related software/programming languages or actuarial software. Problem Solving Advanced knowledge of actuarial science, mathematics, probability, statistics, finance principles, and business, with strong ability to apply this knowledge to insurance problems. Detail Oriented Strong attention to detail when performing analysis with minimal technical errors. Conflict Management/Teamwork Ability to work efficiently and cooperatively in a team environment.
