Build the Future with Us As an Intermediate Systems Integration Engineer in our Rail & Transit team, you’ll play a critical role in delivering a major urban rail extension in the Greater Toronto Area. Working from our Toronto office or a project office, you’ll help integrate new-build systems with existing operational transit infrastructure—ensuring safe, reliable, and seamless service from design through revenue operations.Your ImpactLead systems integration activities across signaling, communications, traction power, SCADA, and control center systemsDevelop and maintain system architectures, functional analyses, and integration strategies across the full engineering lifecycleDefine and manage interfaces through Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Interface Definition Documents (IDDs), and traceability artifactsCoordinate and facilitate interface resolution workshops with designers, contractors, vendors, and operatorsAlign integration and verification activities with project stage gates and design‑build milestonesSupport validation and verification planning to ensure compliance, interoperability, and performanceEngage directly with clients to resolve technical issues and align expectationsMentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative, high‑performing project teamThe Skills That Set You ApartBachelor’s degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering disciplineRegistered as an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) or licensed P.Eng. in CanadaINCOSE Certification such as ASEP or CSEP would be an asset5+ years of experience in rail, transit, or other safety‑critical engineering environmentsStrong grounding in systems engineering principles, including the V‑model and lifecycle managementExperience with systems integration on complex, multi‑disciplinary infrastructure projectsWorking knowledge of ISO/IEC 15288 and IEEE 1220 systems engineering standardsExposure to verification & validation activities (FAT, SAT, SIT, test planning)Knowledge of CENELEC standards and Metrolinx Schedule 29 is an assetFamiliarity with Requirements Management and Integration using tools like IBM DOORSAbility to collaborate effectively across disciplines and communicate complex technical concepts clearlyCompensation AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $98,800 – $130,800MB & ON: $90,100 – $124,100NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $89,200 – $118,500The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
