Course - KINESIOL 2292G 001 - CRITICAL THINKING AND ETHICS IN KINESIOLOGY Department School of Kinesiology - Office of the Director About Us The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of seven Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders and Food and Nutritional Sciences), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centers. The School of Kinesiology at Western advocates the benefits of physical activity to society by providing a multidisciplinary approach to discovery, dissemination, and application of knowledge about human movement and its effects. It also has a history of disciplinary (e.g. biomechanics, exercise physiology, history, management, psychology, sociology) around physical activity. The course is designed to teach basic skills in critical thinking and how to address ethical issues such as doping in sport, body image and gender, clinical and management conflict of interest, etc. Responsibilities You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades. Qualifications Unless otherwise noted, candidates must have a Master's degree (PhD preferred or be close to completion) and a demonstrated record of performance in university-level teaching.
