Payroll Specialist Solace Corporation – Ottawa, ON K2K 3K1 – Hybrid work – Full-time About the Role This position is for a Payroll Specialist reporting to the Director of Finance. You will be part of a dynamic team handling a wide variety of payroll tasks in a fast‑paced, high‑growth technology environment. What You’ll Do Manage end‑to‑end payroll processing, including wages, deductions, tax withholdings, and payment issuance to employees and government agencies. Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll withholdings and remittances. Process Canadian and international payrolls, collaborating with local providers to ensure compliance with regulations. Act as a trusted advisor, providing payroll insights across the organization and leading cross‑functional payroll projects. Record and reconcile payroll transactions in the accounting system, including WSIB, EHT, and other accruals. Maintain accurate financial records, journal entries, general ledger entries, and account reconciliations. Lead payroll audits and assist with financial audits as required. Assist with period‑end closing procedures, including month‑end payroll accruals and variance analysis of month‑to‑month changes. Required Skills 3+ years of work experience in a payroll and accounting role. Strong accounting knowledge and proven ability to record payroll transactions. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, hlookups, and other advanced functions). High attention to accuracy and detail in processes and reports. Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Desired Skills and Certifications Payroll‑related certification (CPM, PCP) is an asset. Experience with international payroll is highly desired. Educational background in accounting is an asset.
