The Senior Director, Business Development is a senior salesperson responsible for driving net-new logo acquisition and profitable growth using a true hunter mentality. This role leads complex, consultative sales pursuits with executive‑level stakeholders, originating, designing, pricing, presenting and negotiating end‑to‑end contract logistics and transportation solutions that aligns the supply chain strategies of North America’s largest customers with Metro Supply Chain capabilities. Success in this role drives Metro’s top‑line growth, expands our solution set and develops Metro’s market presence in targeted verticals and geographies across North America. RESPONSIBILITIES New Logo Growth & Hunting: Drive a robust new logo pipeline with a hunter mindset. Executive‑Level Engagement: Lead strategic executive conversations. Complex Solution Design: Develop integrated logistics and transportation solutions. Commercial Strategy & Negotiation: Lead pricing approach, modeling strategy, and negotiations of complex financing solutions with customers Market Intelligence: Monitor competitors and market trends. Internal Leadership: Mentor and elevate business development capability. EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline required. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Progressive experience in senior business development, sales leadership, or commercial strategy within contract logistics, transportation, 3PL, or supply chain solutions. Demonstrated success winning net‑new customers through complex, executive‑level sales cycles. Proven experience structuring, pricing, and negotiating large, multi‑year contracts. Leadership Experience: Experience leading, coaching, or influencing high‑performing commercial teams and/or remotely‑located cross‑functional deal teams.
