Compensation: $100,000 - $135,000 (Negotiable DOE) Overview Our client is a construction management company specializing in pre-engineered steel structure projects across Canada and the USA. They are seeking a Construction Contracts Manager to oversee contract review, negotiation, administration, risk management, and project support from pre-award through closeout. This role is ideal for a commercially minded construction contracts professional who can identify risk, support project teams, manage claims and change processes, and translate complex contract terms into clear, practical guidance. Must Haves 5+ years in contract management within the construction industry. Strong understanding of Canadian construction contracts, risk allocation, claims, notices, and dispute processes. Experience reviewing, negotiating, and administering client contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders. Ability to identify contractual and commercial risks and provide practical recommendations to project and leadership teams. Strong negotiation, communication, organization, and documentation skills. Ability to translate contract requirements into clear guidance for project teams. Comfortable supporting multiple projects across different stages of the construction lifecycle. Nice to Haves Experience with pre-engineered steel structures, industrial buildings, commercial construction, or design-build projects. Exposure to construction projects or contracts in the United States. Experience working for a construction management company, general contractor, or specialty contractor. Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, document control, procurement workflows, and project administration processes. Post‑secondary education in construction management, business, law, engineering, or a related field. Responsibilities Review, analyze, and negotiate client contracts, prequalification documents, subcontracts, purchase orders, and related commercial terms. Identify contract risks, key obligations, notice requirements, payment terms, claims processes, and documentation requirements. Prepare contract markups, risk summaries, negotiation notes, and practical recommendations for internal stakeholders. Support project teams by translating executed contracts into clear project‑specific requirements. Create concise contract summaries or cheat sheets for Project Managers and operational teams. Manage and support change orders, delay notices, back charges, claims, and dispute‑related documentation. Ensure contract timelines, notice periods, submission requirements, and documentation standards are followed. Support subcontract and vendor contracting, including flow‑through of upstream obligations. Maintain contract trackers, notice logs, claims registers, change order logs, and other contract administration tools.
