Position Overview Medical Oncologist – BC Cancer – Vancouver Centre, Regular Full Time: 1.0 FTE. The department has a current staff of 51 Medical Oncologists and a longstanding reputation for clinical excellence and academia. This full service cancer centre has strong radiation oncology, surgical oncology, diagnostic imaging, pathology, oral oncology, supportive care and functional imaging services and an inpatient unit. Responsibilities Provide quality cancer care to patients. Primarily treat Gastrointestinal (GI) tumors. Support activities of the Vancouver Medical Oncology Program and UBC Medical Oncology Training Program, including teaching postgraduate trainees and undergraduate medical students. Qualifications Fellowship standing in the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine, with a certificate of Special Competence in Medical Oncology. Eligible for licensing with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia and meet requirements of credentialing by the Professional Advisory Committee of BC Cancer. Eligible for a clinical appointment in the Division of Medical Oncology, Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. Eligible for a valid license to practice medicine in Canada. Clinical experience in management of GI tumors highly desirable; preference given to individuals with additional 1+ years of research training/GI fellowship beyond medical oncology residency training.
