Lakeshore Talent is seeking an experienced Payroll Lead to join a fast-paced, collaborative organization supporting payroll operations across both Canada and the United States. This role is ideal for a highly detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and has strong experience with multi-province Canadian payroll and multi-state U.S. payroll processing. What You’ll Be Doing Process and audit bi-weekly payrolls for Canadian and U.S. employees Support payroll operations across all Canadian provinces and all 50 U.S. states Manage payroll changes including new hires, terminations, bonuses, retro pay, garnishments, and deductions Ensure payroll compliance with Canadian and U.S. payroll legislation, tax regulations, and labor standards Prepare and reconcile year-end reporting including T4s, RL1s, W2s, W3s, ROEs, and related filings Support quarterly reporting, payroll audits, reconciliations, and payroll-related GL activities Partner closely with HR, Finance, Payroll, and Tax teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing Assist with payroll system maintenance, testing, process improvements, and compliance initiatives Support payroll inquiries from employees, clients, and internal stakeholders with professionalism and urgency Assist with contingent workforce payroll operations and high-volume reporting activities Research payroll legislation updates and help implement compliance-related process changes What We’re Looking For 5+ years of full-cycle payroll experience Strong experience processing: Canadian payroll across multiple provinces U.S. payroll across multiple states (all 50 states preferred) Experience working in high-volume payroll environments with multiple payroll cycles Strong understanding of: Canadian payroll legislation and taxation U.S. payroll tax regulations and filings Year-end processing and payroll compliance Experience with payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism Preferred Qualifications PCP, CPM, or CPP designation preferred or in progress Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field Advanced Excel skills Experience with Dayforce required Great Plains experience considered a strong asset Bilingual French/English is an asset Hybrid work environment with flexible onsite expectations Dedicated office space available for employees who prefer to work onsite more frequently RRSP matching program Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays If you are a payroll professional who enjoys ownership, accuracy, collaboration, and working in a dynamic environment, we’d love to hear from you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
