Role DescriptionThis is a full‑time, on‑site role located in Ottawa, ON, for an entry‑level or junior Software Developer. The Software Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions to enhance the company’s technology‑driven e‑commerce platform. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with cross‑functional teams to implement new features, troubleshooting and resolving software issues, and contributing to scalable back‑end web development. The role offers the opportunity to work with innovative tools and technologies in a fast‑paced environment. ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain features across our React front end and PHP back end Test and improve existing code; help keep the system stable and performant Troubleshoot, debug, and support the live production system Participate in code review, technical discussions, and team planning Take on increasing ownership and scope over time What we’re looking forKnowledge of at least one modern programming language (e.g., JavaScript, PHP, Python, Java, C#) Experience building web applications with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Solid grasp of algorithms, data structures, and database/SQL fundamentals Familiarity with software development best practices: object‑oriented programming, writing reusable and maintainable code Experience with version control (Git) Self‑learner, comfortable picking up new languages, frameworks, and platforms An interest in understanding how things work, not just how to use them Clear written and verbal English Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience Nice to haveExperience with React, PHP, or Magento Familiarity with PHP template engines (PHTML, Zend, Twig, etc.) Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) or containerization (Docker) Experience using AI tools as part of a coding workflow BenefitsComprehensive health, wellness, and dental benefits package.
