Under the joint supervision of the Director of the Torngasok Cultural Centre and the Environmental Monitor, Dept. of Lands and Natural Resources, the archaeologist will be responsible for the protection, preservation and presentation of the Nunatsiavut Government’s archaeological resources by establishing and administering a permit process which regulates archaeological activity on Labrador Inuit lands and consultation with the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador in the Labrador Inuit Settlement Area. The ideal candidate must be able to exercise independent judgement in the day to day operations of the Nunatsiavut Archaeology office and be responsible for the archaeology budget. Ideal candidate will also be responsible for the development and implementation of education programs in protection of archaeological sites. Qualifications Degree in Archaeology or Anthropology Assets Bilingual in Inuktitut and English. Preference will be given to beneficiaries of the Nunatsiavut Government.
