Direct message the job poster from Axis Lighting The Specialist, Product Automation (SOLIDWORKS) plays a critical role in automating CAD models and managing technical data related to our products. The role works closely with our Research and Development (R&D) team and other departments to ensure accurate and efficient SolidWorks automation, data collection, analysis, and reporting. Expertise in SolidWorks, programming languages, and familiarity with tools like ERP systems and SQL are essential for driving insights and supporting decision‑making processes. Key Responsibilities Utilize software applications such as SolidWorks, DriveWorks and Excel to analyze and automate processes and data. Stay updated with the latest tools and technologies in data analysis and recommend solutions to enhance data management processes. Collect, organize, and maintain technical data related to lighting fixtures, including product configurators, CAD models, data cards, test results, Epicor data, and automation data. Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies and generate actionable insights to support product development, quality improvement, and business decision‑making. Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to stakeholders, including R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and management teams. Collaborate with different departments to understand data requirements and provide technical support for data‑related initiatives. Work closely with IT, Engineering, and Production to support sales orders, debug code and configurators, and reduce non‑conformances. Act as the frontline in Jira Service Management, analyzing, dispatching, processing, and releasing tickets related to Product Automation. Stay informed about industry trends, standards, and best practices in data analysis, business intelligence (BI), and manufacturing processes. Continuously develop skills and knowledge to enhance effectiveness in the role. Education Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably mechanical) or a related field. Experience Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or R&D environment, preferably in the lighting industry. Experience in programming (extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets is a plus). Software Proficiency in SolidWorks. Knowledge of SQL, ERP (Epicor). Jira, DriveWorks, and BI tools and techniques are a plus. Skills Detail‑oriented mindset with strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams and effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing data‑related challenges. French and English language proficiency. Language Requirements English is essential to communicate, support, and provide services to individuals, employees or partners who do not speak French, particularly when they are outside the province of Quebec.
