Raymond West is looking for an innovative Project Engineer to join our team! The Project Engineer will be responsible for designing concept and installation drawings using AutoCAD to provide for customer approval and for installations. The position may also require knowledge and ability to create and submit for construction permits based on the project.Duties And ResponsibilitiesUnderstanding of warehousing, material storage, and material handling including the various types of storage racking and equipment for moving material.Develop storage design concepts based on customer operational requirements and data.Work with the Sales Team and customers to develop solutions.Development of 2D and possibly 3D CAD drawings to support the sales process.When needed, support the project management team with engineering and vendor communications.Work within a teamwork oriented and collaborative environment.Ensure quality standards maintained across all areas of responsibility.Demonstrate high attention to detail, solid organization, and planning skills.An understanding of Industrial Engineering work methods and related materials handling equipment.Assist customers to define initiatives to improve quality and/or productivity and/or space savings.Occasionally attend conferences, meetings, vendor seminars and training to stay current in the material handling equipment technologies industry and evaluate whether new concepts are applicable to our customers.Follow departmental and company procedures.Knowledge of 3rd party procurement including development of RFPs/RFQs, bid review and assessment, and contract award in cooperation with purchasing resources is a plus.Required Skills/AbilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent Organizational Time Management skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar softwareAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with employees, co‑workers, and managers in other departments.Must be willing to work off‑hours as specific needs dictate and willing to assume more responsibility as required.Prove proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.Perform rack design & layout to include selective, deep‑reach, push‑back, cantilever, pallet‑flow, carton flow, and shelving.Perform design and layout for related products including mezzanine, wire guidance, and shelving.Be familiar with seismic design requirements, high pile, code, permitting and costing.Possess knowledge and understanding of application requirements for narrow aisle, very narrow aisle, counterbalance, and IC forklifts.Be able to scale and completely take off existing facilities as requested.Perform duties under minimal supervision but respond to rapidly varying requirements.Demonstrate drive and initiative, maintain records of activities.Willing to comply with the Employee Handbook.Willing to continually learn new products and policies.Manage time effectively and maintain an acceptable attendance record.Willing and able to learn quickly and perform accurately and neatly with a degree of flexibility.Be able to perform independently and as part of a team with sales representatives, suppliers, installers, and clients.Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Must have a valid, unrestricted driver license with no more than an allowable number of points on record.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Education / ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Drafting, Engineering or equivalent is required.Must have experience with AutoCAD.Physical RequirementsPosition is sedentary and desk‑bound.Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Occasionally required to travel to job sites or other offices.Pay Range$84,000 - $120,000 based on relevant experience, education, and work location.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision coverage.401(k) with company match.Flexible spending accounts.Disability insurance.Life insurance.Personal time off and holiday pay.Pre‑Employment RequirementsMust pass a pre‑employment physical and drug screen.Equal Opportunity Employer We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage all qualified persons to apply.
