Role Overview Our Commercial & Business Development team is a function that aims to strengthen the organization and ensure profitable growth while building commercial capabilities & processes across the following 4 areas: Sales Development, Revenue Management, Business Development and Category Management & Insights. As a result, you will gain great level of exposure to different functions and stakeholders as well as opportunity to impact and drive change. Situated in our Commercial office in Oakville, the role reports to the Commercial & Business Development Director. What you’ll be doing Purpose of the role is to establish and drive Category Growth Framework by combining deep shopper understanding, market analytics, and strategic collaboration with the Commercial team and Carlsberg Canada customers and partners. This role translates data into actionable strategies and actions optimizing assortment, pricing, promotions, and in-store execution across key customers. It sits at the intersection of sales, marketing, and analytics—shaping how consumers shop and how retailers win in highly competitive Beer and RTD categories. As part of your responsibilities, you will: Champion a shopper-first mindset across the organization and establish Category Management culture in Carlsberg Canada Build and execute Category Growth strategies (Beer, Ready-To-Drink and Cider) grounded in shopper behaviour, market trends, and competitive dynamics, working closely with Senior Management. Support Customer Join Business Planning with fact‑based recommendations. Act as the category advisor to key retail partners, building compelling, insight‑led selling stories that position the company as a trusted partner. Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain to ensure category thinking and insights shape business decisions. Support innovation launches with category rationale, sizing, and go to market recommendations. Translate complex data (internal, external and syndicated) into clear narratives and recommendations for internal stakeholders and retail partners. What we’re looking for 5+ years of experience in relevant FMCG/ CPG roles: Category Management, Category Insights and/or Consumer Insights. Consumer Intelligence Company (e.g. NielsenIQ) and Retail experience will be considered as a strong advantage. Proven track record in developing, establishing and leading Category Management practices. Strong analytical skills for identifying business opportunities and supporting decision‑making with proven track record. Ability to transform complex data into actionable insights. Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey insights and recommendations effectively, collaborating with various stakeholders. Strong problem‑solving skills and a high degree of initiative. Self and result driven, highly organized, detail‑oriented and must have aptitude for solving. Experience in change management will be considered as an advantage. Team player who can work in a dynamic environment with tight timelines and deliver under pressure.
