Key Skills: S/4HANA BW on HANA AWS SAP BTP Cloud Connector SUSE Linux On-Site · North York, ON We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP Basis Administrator to architect, manage, and evolve our enterprise SAP landscape running on AWS. Based on-site at our North York, Ontario office, you will be a key technical authority across S/4HANA, BW on HANA, SAP BTP, and hybrid cloud integration — partnering with security, architecture, and application teams to drive stability, performance, and innovation. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant influence over architectural decisions. You will own the end-to-end health of a complex SAP ecosystem, lead major technical initiatives such as system migrations and platform upgrades, and serve as the escalation point for critical incidents. The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 8–10 years of hands‑on SAP Basis experience, deep HANA database expertise, proven AWS infrastructure skills, and a strong command of SAP BTP and hybrid integration patterns. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Architect, administer, and optimize SAP S/4HANA and BW on HANA environments running on AWS EC2 and managed services Manage full SAP system lifecycle: installations, system copies, client refreshes, kernel upgrades, and Support Package/Enhancement Package applications Administer SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) environments — performance tuning, patching, HA/DR configuration using Pacemaker/STONITH Design and maintain SAP BTP subaccount structures, entitlements, and service subscriptions in the BTP Cockpit Configure and manage SAP Cloud Connector for secure on‑premise to BTP connectivity, including principal propagation and service channel setup Manage transport landscapes (STMS / CTS+) across Development, Quality, and Production tiers Administer SAP HANA database: backup/recovery strategies, tenant management, system replication (HSR), and performance analysis via HANA Studio / SAP HANA Cockpit Architect and maintain AWS infrastructure for SAP workloads: EC2 sizing, EBS volume management, VPC networking, IAM roles, and AWS Backup integration Lead high availability and disaster recovery planning, including HSR + Pacemaker clusters and cross‑AZ/cross‑region failover strategies Drive SAP Solution Manager / Cloud ALM operations: Change Management, System Monitoring, and Focused Run configuration Act as technical escalation point for P1/P2 production incidents; lead root cause analysis and post‑incident reviews Collaborate with security teams on SAP authorization concepts, SNC configuration, and SOX/audit compliance Mentor junior and mid‑level Basis team members; contribute to runbook and knowledge‑base documentation REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 8–10 years of SAP Basis administration experience, with at least 3–4 years on S/4HANA Strong hands‑on experience with SAP BW on HANA administration and HANA database management Proven experience deploying and managing SAP workloads on AWS (EC2, EBS, VPC, IAM) Practical experience configuring SAP BTP subaccounts and SAP Cloud Connector (on‑premise agent, principal propagation, service channels) Solid SUSE Linux Enterprise Server administration skills — comfort at the command line is essential Experience with HA/DR architectures: HSR, Pacemaker clusters, and cross‑system failover procedures Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager or Cloud ALM for change and monitoring processes Strong incident management skills; ability to lead technical bridges during production outages Must be available to work on‑site at our North York, Ontario office full‑time NICE TO HAVE SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP HANA or S/4HANA System Administration AWS Certified Solutions Architect or SAP on AWS specialty certification Experience with SAP Fiori / Gateway administration and OData service troubleshooting Exposure to SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration / API Management) on BTP Scripting proficiency: Python or Bash for automation and monitoring Experience with Ansible or Terraform for infrastructure‑as‑code in SAP contexts SOFT SKILLS & LEADERSHIP Strong written and verbal communication — able to bridge technical detail and business impact Comfortable working across time zones and with global teams Self‑directed, ownership mindset — you flag issues early and drive them to resolution Collaborative approach with application, security, and infrastructure peers Able to distill complex incidents into clear post‑mortems and executive summaries EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience. SAP and cloud certifications are a strong differentiator. WORK AUTHORIZATION Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
