Position: Lead Hand – Toronto Manufacturing (Dampers) The Lead Hand – Production Lead Hand position offers an exciting opportunity on our Toronto Manufacturing team. We seek an individual who is technically inclined, energetic, enthusiastic, productive and capable of handling multiple priorities with accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Oversee performance of processes and employees in the Dampers cell. Manage orders and ensure required materials are on-hand by coordinating with the purchasing team. Troubleshoot production issues with support from senior operators and production specialists. Collaborate with senior operators to develop in-depth knowledge of the product line and document critical-to-process information. Become a product expert. Implement and champion Lean initiatives. Coach and collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality, safe, cost-effective and timely production. Ensure department compliance with company policies and procedures. Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment. Make critical decisions independently and with senior management when needed. Ideal Candidate Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on safety and quality. Sheet metal experience is required. Willingness and ability to learn technical requirements of the product. 3–5 years of management experience, preferably in manufacturing. Aptitude for reading blueprints and engineering drawings. Strong leadership skills and ability to drive change. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Lean manufacturing concepts is an asset. Post-secondary education. Additional Regular hours: Monday to Thursday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Friday 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Flexibility to work outside of regular hours, including evenings, weekends, and during unforeseen operational issues as needed. Lead Hand expected to model professionalism, punctuality and accountability to set a positive standard for staff.
